Silk chemises
A silk chemise is a slip-style nightdress with fine straps, cut on the bias so it follows the body. Ours are 19 momme mulberry silk with lace at the neckline, from $195 above the knee to $225 at the ankle.
Short or long
The Sottoveste Luna sits just above the knee, easy to sleep in and to pack. The Camicia da Notte Perla reaches the ankle with a low back, made for honeymoon nights. Layer either under a silk robe.
Questions about silk chemises
Is a chemise the same as a slip?
Very close. A slip is worn under clothes, a chemise is worn on its own as nightwear or lingerie. Our chemises can be worn as a slip under a sheer dress.
What size chemise should I buy?
Take your usual dress size. Bias cut silk has natural give, so between sizes choose the smaller for a closer drape.
