01
One line under the gown
A bodysuit runs from bust to hip in one layer, so a fitted sheath or mermaid gown shows no bra band and no brief edge.
-
02
Ivory, not optical white
Bright white looks blue next to ivory silk in photos. Both bodysuits are a warm avorio, the same shade as our Sposa set and ivory hold-ups.

Worn twice
Under the gown for the ceremony, then on its own for the wedding night or the first dinner of the honeymoon.

Bridal bodysuit under a wedding dress
A bridal bodysuit under a wedding dress makes sense when the gown is fitted from the bust to the hip: a sheath, a mermaid or a slip dress in silk or crepe. Those fabrics show every edge, and a bodysuit removes two of them at once, the bra band and the brief line. Under a ball gown with a full skirt, a bodysuit is a choice for how it feels rather than a necessity.
Check the back first. The Luna di Miele has a covered back, so it suits a high back, a keyhole or an illusion back with lace over mesh. If your gown drops below the shoulder blades, the back of any bodysuit will show, and you need a low back bra instead. Our guide to the best underwear for a backless wedding dress sorts every back height, and a strapless gown with a covered back is usually better served by the bridal bustier, which has boning and underwired cups.
Wear the bodysuit to your second dress fitting. Your seamstress alters the bodice over it, and the tulle lining changes the line at the waist just enough to matter.
White lace bodysuit outfits beyond the ceremony
Most brides wear a white lace bodysuit more than once in the wedding week. For the rehearsal dinner or a city hall ceremony, the Pizzo Infinito in avorio tucks into a white satin skirt or wide leg trousers, with a cropped jacket on top. For the bachelorette weekend it goes under an open blazer. For the wedding night, the Luna di Miele is the reveal under the Mattina silk robe, and our wedding night lingerie page has the full set of options. If you prefer a two piece, the Sposa ivory lace set is the same ivory and adds a low back convertible bra.
Stockings and garters with a bodysuit
A snap gusset bodysuit and a garter belt work together if the belt goes on first and the bodysuit snaps over it, so you can use the restroom without unclipping. The simpler option is lace top hold-ups, which stay up on their own: the Calze Pizzo hold-ups in ivory are $55. For the reception toss, the bridal garter belt and wedding garter set includes a lace leg garter that sits over the stocking.
How to size a lace bodysuit
Take your usual dress size: XS is US 0 to 2, S is 4 to 6, M is 8 to 10, L is 12 to 14 and XL is 16. Two things move you up a size. A long torso, because a bodysuit that is short in the body pulls at the shoulders and the gusset when you sit. And a bust of DD or more, since neither bodysuit has an underwire, so a fuller bust needs the room. Our size guide lists underbust, waist and hip for each letter. If plus size bridal lingerie beyond US 16 is what you need, we are honestly not the right shop yet, as our range stops at XL.
What it costs and how it arrives
The Luna di Miele is $255 and the Pizzo Infinito is $195. Many brides buy the bodysuit with ivory hold-ups and the garter set, about $475 for the three. Orders ship express within the US in 2 to 4 business days, free from $150, in a silk lined gift box inside a plain outer box. The Fit Promise covers one free size exchange on your first order, and unworn pieces with tags and the hygiene liner in place can be returned within 30 days. Order four to six weeks before the wedding so the exchange fits comfortably before your fitting. The full edit is on our bridal lingerie page, and the black and red versions of the lace bodysuit are with the other lace bodysuits.
Questions about white lace bodysuit and bridal bodysuit in ivory
Can you wear a bodysuit under a wedding dress?
Yes, and it works best under a fitted sheath or mermaid gown, because it removes the bra band and brief edge in one smooth layer. Choose one with a back that stays covered by the gown, and wear it to your fitting so the bodice is altered over it.
What color bodysuit should I wear under a white wedding dress?
Ivory or a shade close to your skin tone. Bright white can show through thin crepe or silk and reads blue next to an ivory gown in photos. Our bridal bodysuit is a warm ivory that matches most ivory and champagne gowns.
Is a bodysuit good for a wedding night?
It is one of the most popular choices, because it looks finished on its own and is easy to wear for hours. The Luna di Miele, with its pearl button back and sweetheart neckline, was designed to go from under the gown to the night.
How do you go to the bathroom in a bodysuit?
Every bodysuit we make has a snap gusset, so you unfasten two or three snaps instead of taking it off. If you also wear a garter belt, put the belt on first and the bodysuit over it.
Should a lace bodysuit be tight?
It should be close but not pulling. The straps should lie flat without digging in, and the gusset should not drag when you sit. If it does, size up, especially with a long torso.
How much is a white lace bodysuit?
Mass market lace bodysuits sell for $25 to $70, and designer bridal bodysuits run $150 to $400. Ours are $195 for the all over lace Pizzo Infinito and $255 for the lined Luna di Miele bridal bodysuit, with free express US shipping.
